Autumn Family Fun at Drumlanrig
2nd September, 2014
Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate is embracing the start of autumn with a series of events for the entire family to enjoy.
This month’s programme begins with a Teddy Bear Expedition, which will take place from 1-3pm on September 7. Children are invited to bring along their favourite soft toy and build it a shelter in the woods. A Drumlanrig Ranger will then build a fire to enjoy toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate.
There are two options for visitors to choose from on September 21. The Farmers’ Market takes place in the Stableyard from 11am-3pm. The market will feature a number of local food and drink producers with a delicious selection of goods on offer. Information for those interested in becoming a Farmers’ Market trader can be found on the Drumlanrig website.
On the same date, the Estate is also unveiling its collection of trees from all corners of the globe, with a guided Trees of the World walk from 1-2.30pm.
Last but not least, on September 27, visitors can join one of the Estate’s Countryside Rangers on An Autumn Amble through the woodlands to enjoy the changing seasonal scenery from 1-2.30pm.
Normal Estate entry fees* apply for all activities, plus an additional £1 to participate in the Teddy Bear Expedition. Pre-booking is required as spaces are limited. Call 01848 331 555 to reserve a place at any event.
