Drumlanrig Prepares for October Adventure

6th October, 2016

Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate is preparing for an October adventure as it opens the doors to the Playground and Gardens during the half term school break.
Visitors will enjoy access outside of the traditional season at Drumlanrig to take advantage of the Adventure Playground from 15th October through to 30th October and what’s more, the Drumlanrig Ranger team have set up a centre at the entrance of the playground with different activities on offer each day.
Open from 10am – 3pm visitors will also be able to enjoy the Gardens with an impressive array of autumn plants and flowers on show for people to enjoy.
Claire Oram, Castle Manager at Drumlanrig said: “We recognised a demand within Dumfries and Galloway for things to do during the half terms school holidays in October and with such a good resource here at Drumlanrig we are delighted to extend our season by opening the last two weeks in October.
“Our Rangers have a great mix of activities lined up for children to enjoy each day which will engage them with the natural environment around them and keep them entertained for an hour or two.
“The Gardens transform as we go into every season so this two week period is also a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the beautiful Drumlanrig landscapes and the flowers and plants on show during the autumn months.”
The Adventure Playground and Gardens will be open from 10am -3pm each day between 15th and 30th October. Children are priced at £3 and adults go free. Season Pass holders will access for free.
The Castle, Tearoom and Shop will remain closed.
