Drumlanrig to host an array of fantastic events throughout June

If you want to get out and enjoy the summer weather, what better place to enjoy it than Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate where an array of fun wildlife-themed activities are lined up throughout June.

On Saturday 8th June 2013 (13:00 – 14:30), people of all ages are invited to learn more about reptiles with a Ranger-led event called ‘Cold Blooded Creatures.’

Visitors will get the chance to learn about which amphibians live on the Estate and what they get up to at this time of year.

Sunday 16th June (14:00 – 16:00) brings the opportunity to learn about invertebrates when the ‘Insect Hotel’ sets up home at Drumlanrig Castle.

There will also be a chance to learn more about one of Britain’s most secretive animals, with a Ranger-led otter-search of the park’s waterways on Sunday 23rd June (15:00 – 17:00).

A ‘Mini Beast Safari’ will take place on Sunday 30thJune (14:00 – 15:30) offering fun for the whole family and an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the miniature world in which mini beasts live.

Richard Riley, Head Ranger, said: “If you want to learn more about wildlife there has never been a better month to drop by and gain an insight into the lives of creatures, small and large, that live on the Estate.

“You’ll have the chance to ask questions and learn lots of interesting facts about everything from amphibians to mammals in a fun and relaxed environment.”
