New facilities and season pass prices for Drumlanrig visitors

2nd April, 2014

Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate is preparing to open its doors for the 2014 season with a host of exciting new treats for the whole family to enjoy.

The Gardens and Country Estate will open to visitors from now until September 30, opening daily from 10am-5pm.

The Castle opening will follow on May 1 and it will be open daily from 11am–4pm.

There’s good news for visitors this year as the family season pass for the Estate has been reduced to just £25 – half of last year’s price.

The season pass includes access to the Country Estate and its walks and cycle routes, admission to the Stableyard and Adventure Playground, as well as discounts in the shop, cafe and Land Rover tours. Season pass holders will also have complimentary access to Drumlanrig’s sister Estate, Bowhill House near Selkirk, during its open season, providing great value for money.

In addition, the popular adventure playground has been upgraded. Furthermore a series of fun, Ranger-led events have been scheduled for throughout the season.

Also lined up for 2014 is one of the country’s premier country pursuit weekends – the Galloway Country Fair – scheduled for 16th and 17th August.

Claire Oram, Castle Manager, said: “We are very excited about the open season and the latest updates and additions, as well as our regular programme of events.

“We are confident visitors from the local community and further afield will immensely enjoy the experience we have to offer. The new facilities and season pass structure are sure to encourage even more people to visit and explore the beautiful surroundings at their leisure.

“We also have outdoor adventure playground, walking trails and gardens – meaning we have something for everyone, from nought to 90.”
