The Easter Bunny hops along to Drumlanrig
11th April, 2014
The Easter bunny will make a stop at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate later this month to celebrate the holiday’s popular traditions with visitors.
The Estate’s Easter Festival will kick off on April 20with a host of themed activities running from 11am-4pm.
The whole family can get into the Easter spirit as they are welcomed by the special long-eared guest. There will be festive fun for all ages from Easter crafts to an exciting egg hunt in the Castle Gardens.
The day will also feature a Farmers’ Market, bouncy castles, kids’ entertainment and face painting, an Easter crafts station, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and a Fantastic Flying Egg Finale.
From 1-2.30pm, the Estate Ranger will guide visitors through the woodlands of Queensberry Estate as part of the ‘Blossoming Spring’ trail, allowing walkers to see nature come to life after the winter.
In the run-up to the Festival, there are plenty of nature-inspired activities to help get visitors in the mood for the warmer months.
A River Guddle event on April 18 will see a Drumlanrig Ranger exploring the river system on the Estate and the creatures that make their home in and around the water.
On April 19, visitors are again welcome to join a Drumlanrig Ranger and learn how to use items which might normally have gone in the bin to make something useful, like a bird feeder.
Jo Jones, Events Manager at Drumlanrig, said: “Spring has well and truly arrived at Drumlanrig and families looking for some outdoor fun need look no further than our April events, including our Easter Festival.
“The day offers something for everyone and is a chance to mark the school holidays coming to a close with a family-friendly day out and some sweet treats from our popular Easter egg hunt.”
