Wallace Hall Primary scores new football strips
9th June, 2015
A Thornhill primary school’s football team has been kitted out with brand new strips thanks to Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate.
The sponsored kits were hand-delivered to Wallace Hall Primary on Friday 5 June by Anna Fergusson, the Estate’s Visitor Services Manager.
She was met by Deputy Head Teacher, Mrs McDiarmid, as well as some of the team members who tried on the strips for size.
The kits, which bear the Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate name, have been sponsored as part of a £350 donation by the Estate.
And the team will wear them during next season’s fixtures against other local primary schools.
Anna Fergusson, Visitor Services Manager at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to deliver the brand new strips in person and to see them worn for the first time – they look fantastic and the team seems delighted with them.
“The boys and girls playing in the school team receive some great training and learn fantastic skills and teamwork, so we’re more than happy to help them out by sponsoring the strips. I’m sure they’ll stand out against the competition throughout next season.”
Mrs McDiarmid said: “We’re thrilled with the strips – they look great and will boost the team’s confidence when they run out on to the pitch for their next fixture as they really look the part.
“We’d like to thank the team at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate for their sponsorship. The team will wear the name with pride.”
