Castle Gardens

A visit to Drumlanrig would not be complete without exploring the vast and scenic Castle Gardens.  With so many different areas to explore there is always something different to discover.  From formal planting in the parterres to the contrasting Rock gardens and woodland areas, whatever time of year you visit there will be something to enjoy.   You can even recreate a little piece of the gardens at home with plants available to purchase from the Larchwood Cabin.

The Adventure Playground

Your kids will love the chance to burn off some energy in our woodland adventure playground here at Drumlanrig Castle in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway.  With racing zip wires, digging equipment and lots to climb and clamber on! Older children can even brave the 13m tower and scream if they want to go faster down the 10m long tunnel slide.

The Castle Tearoom offers delicious lunches, home baking and refreshments with the very best of local produce. Don’t miss the delicious afternoon tea!

In the Drumlanrig Castle Shop you can browse through a delightful selection of fascinating gifts, local food, jewellery and unique local Scottish art and crafts. You’ll find the same commitment to locally sourced produce here that you’ll see in the Castle Tearoom.  The Gift Shop opens for all visitors with the Castle – discover the opening dates here.

Castle Stableyard

The Castle Stableyard

The historic Castle Stableyard was built in the 1840s and was once home to a bakery, poultry house and plumbery.  Now it is home to a varied selection of small businesses.  From an upholsterer and yoga practitioner to bespoke craft makers and a bike hire, sales and repair shop.  A walk through the Stableyard should not be missed.

Larchwood Cabin Café

At the Larchwood Cabin we welcome you to the Gardens and Adventure Playground. In addition to a warm welcome you will find hot drinks, homemade cakes and traybakes and light lunches.
