Let the Festivities Begin!
Drumlanrig’s Christmas Fair kicked off the final month of 2023, opening to all on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd – making it the perfect way to bring in December.
After a busy week of setting up the marquee and planning elf trails, the Estate welcomed traders and guests to share the festive joy under the stunning backdrop of the Castle. If you missed it or want a recap on the event, keep reading for all our Christmas highlights!
A jam-packed marquee accommodated a whole host of wonderful traders selling their unique products. From dashing dog accessories to hand-made, scented soaps, the variety of goods on offer was wide and plentiful.
Stall holders enjoyed two busy days inside the bustling marquee, with lots of friendly faces stopping to swap their cash for quality goodies and tick off their Christmas shopping lists!
Not only was the Marquee packed with life, the outside of the Oval Lawn brought more entertainment, stalls and businesses to peruse.
The Champer Camper, adorned by twinkling lights, sold some festive fizz and hot drinks, whilst Scottish Assault Courses brought a dose of high-adrenaline action to the fair. Drumlanrig’s Gardening team displayed and sold their beautiful Christmas wreaths whilst Clohnie Farm brought some special four-hoofed friends to say hello.
Visitors on Saturday enjoyed a special treat as Buccleuch and Queensberry Caledonia Pipe Band let out some mighty tunes in front of the Castle.

Fun for the Kids
There were lots of exciting activities for the young ones to enjoy at the Christmas Fair. The first novelty included a trip on ‘The Santa Express’ down to the Adventure Playground and Santa’s Grotto.
Buddy’s Elf Trail allowed kids to tackle some mini games and challenges around the Adventure Playground, including Snowman Slam and Mini Golf. The excitement then heightened as the kids were welcomed into The Larchwood Cabin to write their wish list and meet Santa himself!
Lots of Fun!
Thanks for Coming!
