Castle Garden Tours

Find out more about the impressive Gardens at Drumlanrig Castle. You can choose from two tours. One is hosted by Drumlanrig’s Head Gardener and the other with one of our experienced Castle Guides, Jill, who also works as a Volunteer Gardener.

Unearthed: An Outdoor History and Heritage Tour

Join Castle Guide and Volunteer Gardener, Jill, for a guided tour of the Castle Gardens. The tours will delve into the history of the Gardens, their significance in relation to the Castle, those who graced the grounds, as well as fascinating historical anecdotes about how they came to be what you see today.  

Please note the walks will cover various terrain from grass, gravel, and historic stairs.

Charge: £4 per person (£12/£11 to include Gardens entry). Meet at the Larchwood Cabin. The tour will last for 60-90 minutes.

Tours available: Wednesdays at 12 noon in June, July and August (*excluding Wed 17th July due to Garden closures – see our statement)

Garden Tours with Drumlanrig's Head Gardener

Join us for a guided tour of the impressive Castle Gardens with Head Gardener, Robbie Black, who has been at Drumlanrig for over 25 years. Discover different areas of the Garden, the showstopping seasonal plants blooming right now, get top tips for your own garden and have an opportunity to ask questions of our resident gardening expert.
