Fun at The Fair - Highlights 2025

The Lloyd Main Ring buzzed with excitement all weekend, as a line-up of incredible acts kept visitors entertained from start to finish.

A firm favourite was the medieval jousting display by Ollie’s Equestrian, bringing thundering hooves and dramatic clashes to the arena, while the Stannage Stunt Team wowed the crowds with daring tricks and high-octane stunts.

Additionally, spectators enjoyed falconry displays, a lively ferret show, and expert gundog handling, while younger visitors got stuck into the Road Runner’s fun-filled antics.

Smiles were everywhere at the Fair, with shows, activities, and entertainment bringing joy to visitors of all ages. The Ferris wheel was a standout favourite, offering sweeping views over the estate and all the action below. Thrill seekers could attempt the challenges of Scottish Assault Courses and kids were lucky to enjoy some free activities such as mini quad bikes and inflatables.

Many traders and entertainers also offered fun for the whole family. This included the chance to Pan for Gold and Carriage Rides pulled by Blackstone Clydesdale Horses.

Galloway Country Fair was the place to be for all dog lovers. The whole weekend offered exciting dog friendly fun, with many traders specific to canine needs in attendance and there were even opportunities to test your own dogs abilities.

Over both days visitors could enter their four-legged chums into the Scurry Competition, testing their pets inner Gun Dog abilities. Galloway Gundog Association ran the Spaniel and Retriever Tests throughout the weekend. High-Five Dog Training also joined us for a Hoopers Have a Go Session.

Sunday saw the return of the highly-popular Dog Show, allowing visitors to enter their beloved pets into several competitions to claim their companion as the Top Dog.

Who doesn’t love hand-made crafts, tasty treats and divine drinks? Galloway Country Fair had it all, from our Craft Marquee selling unique art and accessories, to yummy food trucks with mouth-watering bites to eat.

Galloway Demo Kitchen also held demonstration sessions, ran by Station House Cookery School and featuring several traders selling in the Food & Drinks Marquee. Those who enjoyed the demos were treated to special taste tests and helpful cooking advice.

As Saturday evening settled in, the sounds of Drums N Roses filled the air, setting the tone for a night of fantastic entertainment.

The Nithsdale Hotel kept glasses topped up at their pop-up bar, while Cash for Kids brought the fun with a lively auction and bingo. As the night went on, live music kept the crowd on their feet, dancing under the stars before many made their way back to the on-site campsite.
