Autumn Workshops Celebrate Nature at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate
21st October, 2013
Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate may have closed its doors for the winter but it will continue to offer a programme of fun and educational workshops, with two nature-focussed events taking place in the coming weeks.
The Estate will host a Feeders and Homes workshop on 27th October (1pm – 2.30pm) to help the birds on the Estate to prepare for winter.
The Ranger-led event will provide an opportunity to give our feathered friends a helping hand by building a feeder or nest box, at a cost of just £2 for adults and £1 for children.
On 2nd November, Drumlanrig will welcome those with a little creative flare to the Estate as it hosts Art in the Woods. Budding artists will be encouraged to use nature as their canvas, creating their own masterpieces using only objects found in the woodland.
The event costs £2 for adults and £1 for children and takes place from 1pm – 2.30pm.
Jo Jones, Events and Hospitality Manager said: “I am thrilled we can continue to offer some really interesting and interactive workshops for our visitors, even through our closed season during the autumn/winter months.
“Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate is absolutely beautiful all year round, but particularly in the autumn when all the colours of the surrounding woodland are changing, providing a beautiful setting for both events.”
Booking is essential for both activities. For Feeders and Homes, please book your slot before 4pm on 25th October and for Art in the Woods, the deadline for booking is 3pm on 1st November 2013.
