Drumlanrig to host an array of fantastic events throughout May

1st May, 2013

If you’re on the hunt for fun May activities, look no further than Drumlanrig Castle & Country Estate which promises a fun-packed month for nature lovers in particular.

On Sunday 12th May (14:00 – 15.30) people of all ages can learn more about ‘Life of a Hedgehog’ with a chance to discover how the prickly mammal lives.

You’ll get the chance to learn an array of interesting facts, from what it eats to what its predators are, and how it hibernates over the winter period.

On 19th May (11:00 – 13:00) there’s also a chance to learn more about reptiles with a Ranger-led event called ‘Cold Blooded Creatures’.

You’ll have the chance to join the Ranger on an adventure around the Estate, investigating which reptiles live on the grounds and learning about the habitats in which they live.

Richard Riley, Head Ranger, said: “We’ve got an action-packed calendar of events this year and May promises to be great fun for anyone who wants to learn more about some of the interesting creatures that can be found within the Estate.

“On top of that we warmly welcome anyone who wants to drop by our visitor centre or take advantage of our waymarked paths, off-road cycle trails, challenging mountain bike tracks, Landrover tours and more.”

Booking is essential and normal entry fees apply for the above events.
