Galloway Country Fair backs children’s charity for a second year
9th April, 2018
West Sound Cash for Kids has been named as the official charity partner for Galloway Country Fair 2018, adding to the entertainment bill and raising a great sum for the charity.
Building on a partnership which started at last year’s Fair, the charity will host a tent packed with activities and competitions that kids can get involved with across the weekend. Alongside these activities there may also be special guest appearances from the West Sound presenting team and charity mascot – Courage the Cat, to entertain families.
Galloway Country Fair raised nearly £3,000 for Cash for Kids last year thanks to programme sales and generous donations from visitors. With 20 per cent of all takings from programme sales once again going direct to the charity alongside any cash donations, organisers hope to reach another four figure target to support this great cause.
West Sound Cash for Kids aims to support young people and children in Dumfries and Galloway by providing extra care and guidance to those disadvantaged in the community.
Anna Fergusson, Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate Manager, said: “We’re delighted to announce we are partnering with West Sound Cash for Kids again this year.
“As 2018 is VisitScotland’s Year of Young People, it felt a perfect fit to support a children’s charity that makes such a vital difference to many people in our local community.
“They provided great entertainment and activities last year and I’m sure the Cash for Kids tent will be popular once again. But most importantly, I hope with the support of our visitors we can raise a fantastic total for charity again this year.”
Debbie Fraser, Regional Charity Manager said: “We are delighted to be chosen again as the charity partner for the Galloway Country Fair and look forward to being part of such a great weekend of activities whilst raising money for local disadvantaged children across Dumfries and Galloway”.
