Shooting enthusiasts invited to compete in clay shooting challenge at Galloway Country Fair 2017

Organisers of this year’s upcoming Galloway Country Fair (19 and 20 August) – a key date in the rural fair calendar –  have teamed up with Auldgirth Shooting to offer avid shooting fans the opportunity to take part in clay shooting throughout the annual weekend.

Friendly and qualified instructors will be on hand at the event hosted at the stunning Drumlanrig Castle and Estate to help during clay shooting sessions, which will be suitable for both novice and proficient shooters.

Experienced shooters will also have the opportunity to win a Benelli gun worth £2,200 courtesy of Game and Country.*

The 40-bird competition will be split into five categories – AA and A shots, B and C shots, game shots/ unclassified, ladies and junior – with the competitor from each class who successfully shoots the highest number of clays entered into a draw to win the prize.

There will be a winner for each category on both days of the Fair and cash prizes will be awarded to those who come first, second and third in the AA and A shots, B and C shots, and game shots/ unclassified categories with cash prizes also available for first place in the ladies and junior categories.

Along with the action packed agenda of activities, Galloway Country Fair boasts hundreds of stalls from specialist exhibitors. This includes a wide range of outdoor clothing and field sport accessories on offer to ensure everyone is kitted out for the season.

Galloway Country Fair takes place on Saturday 19 August from 10am to 6pm and Sunday 20 August from 10am to 5pm.Tickets are priced at £13 for adults, £5 for children aged under 16 years, £10 for concessions and £30 for a family pass (two adults and two children). Under-fives go free.
