Montagu Cottage

A warm welcome awaits as you enter Montagu Cottage. The spacious living area is flooded with light, thanks to high vaulted ceilings. A double-aspect wood-burning stove separates the modern kitchen/dining area, which includes a breakfast bar and built-in dining area.

In the kitchen, you’ll find everything you need for an idyllic self-catering break, including a large fridge with a freezer section, microwave, oven, hob, toaster, washing machine, and a small dishwasher.

Montagu has three bedrooms. The first bedroom, an ensuite double, is accessed via stairs in the living area to a mezzanine level. Bedrooms two and three are located on the first floor. Bedroom two features a super king-size bed (or twin beds), offering flexibility for families or groups. The third bedroom is a double with an ensuite shower room.

In addition to the two ensuite shower rooms, there is a large family bathroom downstairs with a walk-in shower and a luxurious roll-top bath—perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the estate.

Montagu has an enclosed garden with hot tub, outdoor furniture on the patio and an area with decorative stones. Enjoy stunning views over the Nith Valley, with sheep and lambs roaming just over the fence!

There is a large parking area shared with guests of Laundry Cottage, located just next to the cottage.

Try your hand at clay pigeon shooting with our friendly, experienced instructor. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, we’ll provide everything you need for a safe, enjoyable countryside experience.

Please note that Montagu is located close to the shooting area, so guests staying may hear shooting during scheduled sessions, which take place during daytime hours only. We always aim to advise guests in advance, although occasionally bookings are made at short notice.
