Welcome to Slatehouse
A stunning, thoroughly renovated luxury cottage, with four double bedrooms (or three doubles and a twin) sleeping up to eight guests and two dogs.
Slatehouse is located just off the impressive approach to Drumlanrig Castle, approx 1/2 a mile away from the Castle itself.
As you arrive you will immediately enjoy the stunning scenery, peace and quiet! Conveniently, there is parking just outside with further parking on the left-hand side as you approach.
Luxury Cottage Interior
As you enter there is a handy entrance porch filled with light and with plenty of space for muddy boots and coats after a day exploring the estate or wider Dumfries & Galloway.
The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is the perfect hub for guests to enjoy a glass of wine, a board game or a cosy movie night on the large 55 inch smart tv with the wood burner blazing.
The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave and kettle.
Bedrooms
The property has four bedrooms. The master has a king size bed and ensuite shower room. There are two further doubles and another bedroom which can be either a king size bed or two singles. There is a family bathroom with modern freestanding bath and separate shower and a further W.C.
The Great Outdoors
Outside you will find an enclosed garden with modern patio, electric 7-seater hot tub and views across the Nith Valley. The property is a short walk from Statehouse Loch which has stunning views of the Castle and where fishing is available.

"Just returned home after a fabulous week at Slatehouse cottage at Drumlanrig. Cottage was comfortable and clean with plenty of room for our party to relax. The welcome pack containing restoration yard goodies was much appreciated. Plenty of great walks from the cottage for our dog Hugo. Staff on estate were all super friendly and tour of the castle well worth the walk up from the cottage. Highly recommend Slatehouse."

"Lovely house with quality fixtures and fittings. All bedrooms have tvs and have very comfortable beds and good linens. Everything you need in kitchen available plus BBQ Fabulous hot tub but best of all is the privacy and the stunning views that surround the house. Would highly recommend"

Thank you for another wonderful stay at Slatehouse cottage. It is beautiful and incredibly well maintained. Everything was immaculate and in great condition. The kids loved the space outside and the nearby adventure playground. It is also 30 mins from Dalscone Farm Park which is great for little ones. Not as many options to eat nearby but great facilities in the cottage including a BBQ. Thanks very much.

Everything was perfect for our family get together. The house, the comfort, the environment. Plenty of walks on the Estate and locally. Great play area for the children on the Estate itself. Ideal for all age groups and wonderful time had by all. We highly recommend this property.

We loved our stay at Slatehouse Cottage- helped by mostly beautiful warm weather. The views from every window were vibrant green and the house had a calming effect on us. We are keen walkers and really enjoyed the Castle trail, especially the Arwen Trail with its superb view of the Castle from above. We enjoyed the riverside walk along the Nith to Burnmouth and back by the lane, appreciating the beautiful colours of azaleas along the way. The cottage was comfortable and easy to live in.

"Great location, a super clean cottage, which was beautifully presented. We loved the log fired hot tub. Once we knew that we could request logs, firelighters and kindling for both the hot tub and wood burning fire, to be dropped in as required, this made using it even better."
