1. Castle Tours
Step back in time and discover the magnificent history of Drumlanrig Castle on a guided tour. Children and adults alike will be fascinated by the stunning art and architecture of the 17th-century marvel. Additionally, learn all the stories and legends that have shaped ‘The Pink Palace’ throughout the centuries.
Why stop there? Head outside and join one of our Garden and Historical Garden Tours. Spot the colours of the rainbow, blossoming through petals and plants, count how many trees are over 100 years old and even take a spooky stroll through ‘The Pet Cemetery’.
2. Adventure Playground
Let the kids run wild in our epic Adventure Playground. Boasting multiple slides, swings and climbing frames, children can dream and play their day away. The only downside of our Adventure Playground- you’ll never get the kids out, they just won’t want to leave!
The playground is located next to the Larchwood Cabin– the perfect place for grabbing a bite to eat and relaxing whilst the kids play. There is also ample space next to the playground for picnics too!
3. Nature Trails and Wildlife
With a vast estate and lots of surrounding countryside to roam, Drumlanrig Castle offers an array of nature trails suitable for the whole family to explore.
Wandering through woodlands and over rivers, make sure to keep an eye out for local wildlife. Perhaps you’ll spot some roe deer, badgers or even otters fishing in our lochs!

4. Family Friendly Events - Galloway Country Fair
Throughout the year, Drumlanrig Castle hosts a variety of workshops and events tailored for families. The Summer season is buzzing with activity on the estate, with excitement building for Galloway Country Fair happening in August. Fun for everyone, the weekend is dedicated to celebrating countryside and family life.
Including crafts and food stalls, country sports, FREE kids activity zones and main ring entertainment- families (even dogs!) are spoilt for fun on a trip to Galloway Country Fair.
5. Two-Wheeled Fun
