What's On in South West Scotland this June?

In early June the Castle Gardens are awash with colour with a spectacular range of azaleas and rhododendrons. There is a collection of over 500 varieties at Drumlanrig, including hybrids. Some of the seeds which makeup the collection have been collected from all over the world, including Nepal. We even have ones from the Himalayas sourced 20 years ago.

Dabton House is a private home of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch’s but the stunning gardens are being opened every fortnight for a special tour with the head gardener, John. Tours start at 10am on 2^nd June (then every fortnight) and last approximately an hour, visitors then have an hour to explore the gardens at their own leisure.

Although the Castle is closed in June it is possible to book a special private tour. So if you can’t visit in July or August there are still opportunities to discover the historic ‘Pink Palace’ and the world renowned Buccleuch Art Collection. A special event talking place at Drumlanrig with events throughout the weekend including the scrambles, road runs, training sessions and guests of honour.
