Playground Safety Information

While all reasonable measures have been taken to ensure the safety of our visitors and to provide information and warning signs, each adult visitor has a responsibility for their own safety and those of their fellow visitors whilst on site. Please note the following whilst at the Adventure Playground

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult (age 18+).
  • Toilets are located at the Larchwood Cabin & Stableyard
  • Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed to go into the playground, but can enjoy the rest of the Gardens and Estate on a lead.
  • Only you know the abilities and limitations of the children in your care. Please keep an eye on them and make sure they’re playing safely.
  • Be safe. Keep away from natural hazards
  • Decide on a meeting point in case your group splits up.
  • Please note BBQs are not permitted here, but we have lots of picnic benches.
  • In the event of an emergency, please contact a member of staff or dial 999.
  • Tickets will be available online – we reserve the right not to accept walk ups.
  • Tickets will be scanned at the entrance.
  • Tickets are non-refundable except in cases of a Force Majeure Event.


Annual Pass Terms and Conditions

2024 Annual Passes have now been launched and 2023 season passes are no longer valid.

  • 2024 passes are valid from date of purchase until 31st December 2024. (Gardens and Playground until end October)
  • Where possible Pass Holders should book tickets in advance. Please book online ‘Tickets for Annual Pass Holders’ and remember please bring your card with you on the day as proof of membership.
  • The Annual Pass card can only be used by the adults it was purchased for.
  • It is non-transferable.
  • Replacement passes will be charged £5
  • It does not guarantee entry. On rare occasions we may need to close due to weather or limit numbers on busy days.
  • Free admission cannot be granted without your card. Entry will be charged at the normal rate of admission.
  • Annual Pass holders can receive 10% off a Castle Tour on one occasion in 2024 – please note that Castle Tours book quickly so please book in advance to avoid. To find out first about Castle opening dates, make sure you are signed up to our newsletter.
  • Please show your pass to receive 10% off in the gift shop, Castle Tearoom and Larchwood Cabin.
  • Annual Pass holders will receive 10% off events run by Drumlanrig Castle, e.g. Galloway Country Fair. The discount is on full price tickets only and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers such as early bird discounts.
  • Discounts can be used only for the amount of people on the pass – e.g individual pass holders can receive 10% off 1 ticket. Family pass holders can use the discount for 2 adults and up to 3 children.
  • Pass holders will receive 10% off fishing tickets – to book please get in touch with our estate office (Monday to Friday) fishing@drumlanrigcastle.co.uk phone: 01848 600283 and quote your full name. Find out more about fishing on the Estate here
  • Bring a guest – 10% discount on their Castle & Gardens ticket (max 4 extra guests) – available for use once during the year. (This offer can be used at the same time as your 10% Castle discount to a maximum of 5 people (for induvial pass holders) and 6 Adults and 3 children (for family pass holders) receiving the 10% off).
  • We reserve the right to change the annual pass benefits at any time.
  • Adults must accompany their children at all times.
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission or cancel passes without a refund if anyone behaves in an abusive of threatening way to our staff, contractors or other visitors.
  • Please note on the booking system ‘membership’ is used interchangeably with Annual Pass

2.5 You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to our site.

2.6 You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these terms, and that they comply with them.

3. Intellectual property rights

3.1 We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

3.3 You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

3.4 Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our site must always be acknowledged.

3.5 You must not use any part of the materials on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.

3.6 If you print off, copy or download any part of our site in breach of these terms of use, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

3.7 The names and logos identifying our site and/or us and our products and services and the products and services of any third parties are either (a) proprietary marks of Buccleuch or (b) marks that Buccleuch is licensed to use, and nothing in these Terms of Use shall confer on you any licence or ownership of such marks or of any other intellectual property right.

Commentary and other materials posted or featured on our site are not intended to amount to advice on which reliance should be placed. We therefore disclaim all liability and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by any visitor to our site, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents.

We aim to update our site regularly, and may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our site, or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on our site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.

We also have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any material posted or uploaded by you to our site constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.

10. Viruses, hacking and other offences

10.1 You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack.

10.2 By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. We reserve the right to refuse access to our site to any user at our sole discretion.

If any provision of the Terms of Use is judged to be illegal or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of the provisions of the Terms shall continue in full force and effect.
