The Castle Tearoom offers an enchanting setting to enjoy a delightful cup of tea and cake, or a freshly prepared meal during your visit to Drumlanrig.
Nestled within the Castle’s historic kitchen, the Tearoom surrounds you with original copper cookware and touches of its storied past, all while providing the warmth and comfort of a welcoming dining experience.
We have a selection of tables both inside and out, where outdoor seating is available on the terrace, overlooking the West Parterre/Rose Garden.

When and Where to Find Us
The Castle Tearoom is open Sundays until the end of November, 11am – 4pm.
You’ll find the Castle Tearoom at the top of the alleyway between the Castle and the Stableyard. Visitors can also access the Tearoom via the rear entrance through the Gardens.

The Larchwood Cabin Café
If you’re after a tasty alternative for lunch or a treat to take on your travels, the Larchwood Cabin is just the place.
Conveniently located at the entrance to the Gardens and Adventure Playground, it’s ideal for parents to relax while the kids play – or to refuel after a day of exploring the stunning estate.
Open daily during the open season (1st March – 31st October)
9:30am – 4:30pm
Please note that dogs are not allowed inside the Castle Tearoom.
However, dogs on leads are very welcome in the Gardens and may join you in our new outdoor seating area, accessible via the Garden entrance. Use the Garden door to access the Tearoom and make your order.
For a dog-friendly indoor option, visit the Larchwood Cabin Café at the entrance to the Gardens and Playground — four-legged friends are warmly welcomed there.
